The Expandtainer (Expandable Container) is a small, easy to carry storage unit that allows astronauts to carry many small items with them. This container can hold anything from food to miniature tools and utensils. Thus, allowing astronauts to efficiently carry minuscule items around the ISS. The Expandtainer has three separate holders that fit inside the main cylinder, along with a lid. The container can expand when the astronaut pulls the lid open, exposing the three holders for the easy access of items. This contraption nearly doubles in height when opened (from approximately 6cm to 12cm), and is easy to store or hold when closed. For assembly, astronauts simply need to push the holders and lid down the support rod and into the cylinder. The Expandtainer is a simple yet effective tool and can save lots of time and resources when 3D printed in space.
