For the 2017 future engineers mars medical challenge, I decided to solve the problem of flatulence during space travel. Because air is recycled, the methane that is emitted from the astronauts is never fully “gotten rid of” during space travel. My design is similar to a baseball cup but is applied to the rear inside the underpants. It features a plug that allows the fart to be contained until it can be vacuumed away with the rest of the astronauts waste. The garment is made out of ninja flex semi flex which allows it flex in order to conform to any and all bottoms.
