Although hearing problems in space are rather uncommon, it is still very possible that an astronaut could lose hearing due to long term noise exposure. My device, The "O.L.D.", or Old-School Listening Device, is a hearing aid that contains absolutely no electronics. It is light, robust, and can be printed in just about any material. It's simple, practical, and yes, a bit funny looking design, allows it to fit just about any ear size. The top part of the "C" shape fits over the top part of the ear, and the bottom part fits just behind the ear lobe to provide a snug, yet comfortable fit. Out with the new and in with the "O.L.D.”!
