The cassowary is located in tropical rainforests of Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia. They are becoming endangered because of dogs, pigs, and climate change. To combat dog attacks, they will adapt and get thicker skin, making dog bites less damaging. Cassowaries also have problems with feral pigs, the pigs don't physically attack cassowaries, they are invasive and are a competitor for food making the food for the cassowaries scarce. Because feral pigs make vegetation growth slow down the cassowaries will become carnivores and make feral pigs their prey, this will make the feral pig problem stop and balance out the ecosystem. The cassowaries need a way to cool off as the world is becoming hotter. To solve this problem, they could become semi-aquatic with the water acting as a coolant. With this, they will also be able to hunt for fish, giving them a wider range of food.
