RPS is stands for Radioisotope Power System. RPS uses Nuclear Power for energy. The RPS uses the natural decay of plutonium-238 to form energy. This will be the power/energy for my satellite.
My mission is to make a satellite that will fly to the Kuiper belt and take pictures and samples of the Kuiper belt. My goal is to find out if there is a material in the Kuiper belt that we can use to power homes on Earth. I am looking for material that doesn’t have any radiation or things/chemicals or anything toxic to harm people. I will name the project “The Generator”.
The Kuiper Belt looks like a giant donut, it’s also 30 AU from the sun. Fun fact 30 AU is about 2.8 billion miles. The Kuiper Belt is named after a famous astronomer who wrote a science article on things farther than Pluto. The Kuiper Belt is made of ice and some dwarf planets. The Kuiper belt is made up of colors between a dark reddish and white.
My power is that I can think critically and creatively to solve real world problems. With being able to solve real world problems critically and creatively, I would be able to fix a problem very quickly when something goes wrong. I will give the information on what I found to scientists and I will share my results.
