Meidáō is a nearly 21-inch Robot built out of steel, titanium, cast iron, and aluminum. The name Meidáō comes from the Ancient Greek word for smile, μειδᾰᾰω. Meidáō is computer programmed and designed to make the user smile. Meidáō will first analyze your face and determine how you're currently feeling; once it detects your mood, it will start conducting many methods to try and make you smile. Meidáō acts as a friend, offering comfort, reassuring words, or giving gifts. Other functions include telling jokes, dancing, and taking photographs. The sensor in its program will then determine when you've smiled. Meidáō's physical design has many elements, such as a speaker on its chest, a screen for a face, color-changing antennas, and much more. Meidáō is automated and will learn, adapt and adjust to its situation accordingly. Meidáō is a companion bot designed to make you smile with many strategies.
