My socially assistive bunny robot would be for lonely seniors. This robot would bring comfort, companionship and endless smiles through hands-on activities like petting, object following, and interactive A.I. games on a Bluetooth-connected app. After successfully building a prototype without fur, I tested it to find areas to improve. The final robot will have a structure made of wood which is both sturdy and affordable, making the bunny more accessible compared to other socially assistive robots while also encouraging smiles for a long time. It would have electrical components like a microcontroller, Bluetooth module, servos, ultrasonic sensors(for obstacle avoidance), humidity sensor(to detect hugs), and camera(for color detection to follow objects). The robot would be automated, taking input from its sensors to determine its next action but there would also be the option to control it through the app.
