The Flinger is a modern slingshot that looks like a crossbow. It is easy to use, and children seven and older can use it under adult supervision. The device consists of a wood support, a 3D printed plastic handle, 3D printed uprights connected to an aluminum brace, and a rubber band. As the rubber band is pulled back and placed onto a pointer finger, the rubber band's force increases, just as a spring does when it is stretched. When the finger releases the rubber band, a 3-inch water balloon will fling forward up to 6 feet. The Flinger is powered by human energy and the energy stored in the rubber band.
