E.T Water Purifier

My future design created is an Extra Terrestrial Water Purifier. Just think if you are on a planet, unknown to life and have water on the surface, but realize shortly after it contains a remarkable amount of bacteria. Well this device may not look like a water purifier but is indeed one. All you do is fill up every cylindrical hole with water making sure there are no air pockets. Close the caps on either end and just add electricity to the copper rods and watch as the metal plates in the middle begin to pull the bacteria in to the sponges creating a drinkable water source in just under 5 minutes. Think about how much drinkable water you could have in five minutes using several more of these or even a larger one if that.
