The Adjustable Strap is used to hold things together. It allows for an adjustable “rope and hook” for astronauts to use. The construction guidelines have no restriction against creating a design out of 2 or 3 different print materials. Therefore, I have opted to use polybenzimidazole, a super strong plastic that will be printed as a fiber at an extruder temperature of 760 degrees Celsius; steel, with high deflective and elastic range properties; and a graphene reinforced ThermoPlastic Polyurethane, an extremely strong yet flexible material: each used for the body, spring, and rope respectively.
