Space Pill

Radiation is the most dangerous aspect of space travel to Mars. Astronauts get exposed to 10 times more radiation than we do on Earth. It causes brain damage, nausea, and cancer. On Earth we have medicines that can help cure radiation sickness. In space you can combine Potassium Iodide and Prussian Blue. Combining these medicines are easier because of microgravity. In microgravity there are no problems with density so we can combine the medicines into one pill. “The treatment goals for radiation sickness are to prevent further radioactive contamination; treat life-threatening injuries, such as from burns and trauma; reduce symptoms; and manage pain. Prussian Blue speeds up the elimination of the radioactivity particles and reduces the amount of radiation cells may absorb.” (mayoclinic.org) The Prussian Blue is represented by the color blue and the Potassium Iodide is represented the color red on the STL file.
