This set of tools consists of needle-nose pliers and lineman’s pliers, as well as a set of attachable handles. The pliers do not have wire-cutting blades to ensure the safety of the crew on the ISS. The handles have a special grip on designed for a solid grip of the tool when being used, ensuring better precision and accuracy. Concept: Many pliers, including the ones that NASA uses on the ISS, have handles that are almost the same size. If these pliers all used one pair of handles, NASA could save sizable amounts of weight. Astoundingly, no one has come up with a more efficient solution. By only having one pair of handles for use with the heads of two pliers, this set of tools saves the extra weight of another pair of handles.
