In my community, many houses were built in the 1950s-1970s. This means that many of them are no longer up to code or have had a lot of wear and tear throughout the years. During the rainy season, there is a constant problem of backyards, front yards, crawl spaces, and garages flooding. In response to this, I propose improving drainage systems as well as building temporary flood barriers. Improving drainage systems would allow water to drain at a much faster rate rather than using a electric pump to get it out manually.
