LOUISIANA'S DEFEAT In Louisiana's climate, heat temperatures are continuing to rise. There will be higher rates of heat strokes, changes in physical properties, drought, and fewer animals which will mess with the food chain, and overall can decrease human health. In order to prevent and protect there are actions to be taken. Installing reflective cool roofs, as well as green roofs, can help from overheating, by reflecting sunlight and absorbing less solar energy. Green roofs provide shading, thermal mass, and insulation. Planting trees will also help by providing shade throughout evapotranspiration. Lastly painting the roads a lighter color or using cool pavements to build the roads will also help with overheating. Louisiana's heat will only get worse as time goes on unless we do something about it.
