My Two for the Crew submission is a 3D printer ratchet. The ratchet works by a push or pull motion in one direction to loosen or tightens bolts. This tool works extremely well in tight spaces and can fit a wide range of bolts one might encounter. This final design was conceived from the engineering process while constructing multiple prototypes. Through 3D printed iterations this ratchet was tested and the design was modified. I found that the head of the gear needed to be changed from a circular design to a hex nut. This allows the gear to hold the socket more secure. I also added a 5 hex nut set to the design. The hex nut size range from 10mm to 20mm. With interchangeable sockets this wrench weighs less and offers a competitive advantage for the international space station.
