We Fight for Freedom

My pin is an homage to the Broadway musical "Hamilton" by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It is know throughout the country for its depiction of Alexander Hamilton's life and achievements (as well as the excellent music). Alexander Hamilton's story was nearly forgotten by history because he died in a duel against Aaron Burr, which is considered dishonorable. But his story lives on because we chose to remember it. As Alexander Hamilton has been honored by Lin-Manuel Miranda, I seek to honor the story of our veterans who have fought for the freedom of the American people. "Freedom: Something we won't let them take away" is a reference to "The Story of Tonight" from Hamilton. It represents the drive that called our veterans to arms and promises that we will never forget their contributions.
