Skies and Seas

There are over 18 million veterans living in the United States today, and they hardly get any recognition. I wanted to display gratitude and appreciation for these veterans through my pin. I made my title ‘Skies and Seas’ because it shows honor to veterans who were a part of the Air Force or Coast Guard. I chose the colors blue, white, purple, and yellow because they represent freedom, hope, power and optimism. My pin is a circle because it symbolizes unity through the 6 military branches of our country. I wanted someone to wear this pin so that others would know how they risked their lives for our country. Finally, the saying, “This We’ll Defend” at the bottom of the pin comes from the US Army, as it has been their motto since the Revolutionary war. Thank you, veterans!
