U.S. Navy Veteran pin

the idea for my pin was the veterans in my school were mostly navy veterans thus giving the idea for an appreciative pin for the navy. then the creation process for the pin started with thinking of what navy veterans do which obviously was sea vessels like ships thus giving the idea for the anchor on the pin and the sailor colors. next i decided to add a bird to the pin which instead of a basic and boring bald eagle i decided to use a sea bird and after research i found the navy slogan to be "Always courageous" and with that information i picked a sea bird that symbolises courage which ended up being a brown pelican. with the anchor and brown pelican i ended up with a finalized design of a brown pelican facing forward wings out perched onto the stock of an anchor.
