Pin with a Lid

This pin celebrates the veterans’ service through multiple symbolism. The pin's heart shape illustrates the love Americans have for their veterans. The pin has a lid to its design. Inside the lid, some of the most commonly-used phrases to describe veterans are written. These phrases were collected by asking people around my community a question: “What is one word to describe a veteran?”; the bigger font size of the text means that word came up more frequently. The two stars, which stand as a representation for excellence, on the top of the lid emphasize the two roles these veterans have: a protector and a righteous citizen. The stars are located on the left (when worn) because that is where the heart is on a human body. Ultimately, when a veteran sees this pin, they will understand the deep messaging of love that the American people have for their service!
