The rise in carbon emissions has caused a significant increase in ocean temperatures. This is a major problem, as it can lead to many negative consequences, including coral bleaching, sea level rise, and changes in ocean currents. Glaciers help to provide assistance in stopping the sunlight from heating the ocean, but when they melt they are unable to help prevent the absorption of solar radiation. I designed a solar panel boat to act as a glacier by absorbing the solar light to combat rising ocean temperatures and be unable to melt as glaciers would. The boat is powered by solar energy, meaning it produces no emissions as well as has the ability to collect solar energy in batteries for other uses, and the energy absorbed by the solar panel is not heating up the ocean.
