Louisiana has had problems with wildfires spreading rapidly because of the dry environment and heavily wooded areas. Burn bans are put into place because fires can get out of control quickly when it is hot and dry. Louisiana is both of those things, so when fires are built they can spread easily in those conditions. According to the National Interagency Fire Center , The national average of human caused wildfires comprises 87% of all wildfire occurrences every year, most of these fires can be prevented. Burn bans get put in place when it's necessary , but people don't follow them. There are strict laws and consequences to people who don't follow the burn ban rules and cause massive forest fires, but they still don't follow the law and build the fires. Before building a fire people should do their research when it's dry out, and make sure there are no statewide or local burn bans set in place.
