As Tulalip people, climate change is especially a threat to us. The Tulalip Tribes Fisheries and Natural Resources Commissioner, Terry Williams states "We've lost 90% of the salmon population.'' Because of pollution and rising temperatures. If we don't make a change this will only get worse. Losing our salmon isn't just losing “food” it's also losing a part of our cultural identity. My action plan is to convince individuals to stop excessive consumption and buying, alongside not contributing to the problem while waiting for others to take action and solve it. But they ignore that climate change cannot be stopped or solved, it can only be slowed. To help our environment and contribute to a greater cause, everyone has to be part of the solution. We have to take initiative and make a change of behavior. I propose a consumption tracking website. That will have updates and news on climate changes. A tab for a personal waste inventory, a tab for what you can do based on the inventory, and a climate pledge. Including a habit tracker with rewards and levels based on good stewardship. I believe this could contribute greatly to our climate solutions by encouraging youth to care.
