One of the most prominent issues including climate change in my area is the rising sea levels. Especially living near the coast. My proposed plan is to increase the amount of natural boundaries for the water. Flooding would destroy many parts of the parts in this area, and would ultimately destroy all the ecosystems. With more natural solutions, it keeps this from happening, while preventing complaints about the view and preserving as much of the ecosystem as possible. Sand imported to the shore would serve as makeshift walls, and natural plants within that would help prevent erosion and help soak up any extra water if need be. Natural plants such as seaweed and other seagrasses would also be planted along the banks to further preserve the area from erosion. Another part of this solution if need be, would be to build a barrier underwater, either with sand or with metal in more dire cases. This would help prevent the smaller surges of water. At the end of the day, these would be preventative measures, and part of the plan would also be evacuation and safety plans for the people living along the coast.
