In our community of California, we face increasing threats from climate-related hazards such as drought, wildfire, and flooding. To address these challenges, I propose the implementation of "Green Spaces for Climate Resilience." My plan involves creating and maintaining green spaces strategically throughout the community. These areas will act as natural buffers against extreme heat, reduce the risk of flooding by absorbing excess water, and serve as firebreaks during wildfire events. Additionally, the green spaces will enhance overall community well-being by promoting biodiversity and offering recreational opportunities. By incorporating native, drought-resistant plants, our initiative aligns with the local climate, ensuring sustainability and minimal water usage. We plan to engage the community in the creation and upkeep of these spaces, fostering a sense of ownership and unity.
