My solution to climate change in my community is to create more sustainable buildings. Improvements can be made in all aspects, from the actual building materials to the fuel type used to heat it. Starting with the physical building, recycled materials such as old storage crates and recycled metals can be used so that they do not go to waste and can go to a good cause. As for the electricity inside, solar panels can be installed on buildings so that they can generate their own electricity. All buildings can include charging stations for electric cars. These built in stations will hopefully encourage more people to make the switch from gas to electric cars. Small changes can also be made to the community, such as creating more bike infrastructure and walkable areas to encourage more people to move away from cars. My neighborhood has barely any sidewalks, so this change can encourage more people to walk.
