In this design, there will be 5 piles that are 11 ft aboveground and 7ft below to ensure stability and to be higher than average flood heights. these piles will be 3d printed in 2 parts because at the moment the highest 3D printers are 11 ft so the above and below-ground piles will be printed separately. The house part of the design will be cylindrical so the strong winds from tropical storms will go around the building and not try to go through the building. The roof will be in a cone shape so the came with will occur. 3d printing and pile foundations are good options to make homes more climate resilient in Jamaica. 3d printing on this big of a scale is a relatively new technology that has not been used enough. Companies like Icon can 3D print with concrete a very useful material. In this plan, concrete will be the main build material because it keeps pieces down. With 3d printing and pile, the foundation is a good option to make homes more climate resilient in Jamaica specifically against floods and storms.
