Wildfires are no joke with around 70,000 happening every single year all around the world and 7,500 per year specifically in California. They contaminate the air, destroy habitats full of wildlife, spread super quickly, and are hard to detect in time. So, I invented a technological invention called the Birdie Bracelet. This harmless metal band is a tracker and a carbon dioxide detector. It is placed on the leg of a bird (our organization of experts will go out and apply the band onto many birds in the forests of California). Then, when the device detects carbon dioxide, it will capture the coordinates at which the carbon dioxide was detected. Those coordinates will be sent out to nearby fire stations to go stop wildfires as fast as possible! The birdie bracelet will be much more effective at detecting wildfires than methods like using firewatch towers to spot fires because birds are practically everywhere and have the capability to fly over fires while the amount and location of firewatch towers is limited and inconvenient. So, to preserve the life of plants, animals, and even people on Earth, we should definitely start using the birdie bracelet.
