For the past few years my state of California has been in a drought due to climate change. This has resulted in more fires and the depletion of California’s groundwater supply. To combat this I will specifically tackle the 1 trillion gallons of water used by faucets each year in the United States. To reduce water used by faucets, I’ve come up with the “Efficient Sink”. The main feature is that the Efficient Sink tracks how much water is used to keep the user informed about their water consumption. With the ability to track water usage, the Efficient Sink is also able to tell if it's leaking and so allows for the user to quickly deal with the leak which could’ve wasted water. Additionally, the Efficient Sink is low-flow, meaning that less water comes out. So, the Efficient Sink will make the user more aware of their water usage and it uses less water.
