In California, wildfires have been happening at frightening rates due to climate change. Fire departments must become aware of these fires to put them out before they spread. I suggest the Redwood Smoke Alert program to help them find these fires before they go wild. This program plants redwood or other slow-burning, smoke-producing trees and plants around populated areas at high risk of sudden fires. When fire sets the trees alight, they will produce a smoke signal that will alert the fire department of the fire. This way, they can get to the fire before it spreads too far, and California won't have to live in fear of flash wildfires.
