How We Can Reduce The Effects Of Hurricanes. There are many hurricanes that hit Louisiana and they have severe effects on our ecosystem, climate, and cities. As a coastal state Louisiana has a lot of marshes and swamps which can be very helpful for slowing down storms and hurricanes. However the marshes and swamps are slowly eroding which means hurricanes are getting more dangerous and having larger effects on cities. Luckily there are ways we can help prevent erosion and ways to rebuild the swamps and marshes. While these actions won't stop hurricanes it can help reduce the negative effects of hurricanes. Ways that we can prevent the erosion of wetlands is by planting trees in swamps and planting more luscious greenery at the edges of wetlands and by trying to bring in more soil to help reverse erosion.
