I chose my animal the Cock-of-the-rock because it is quite rare and beautiful. It adapts to its present environment by making nests in cliffs. This protects them from predators. Their diet is mainly made up of fruits. They don’t swallow seeds and dispense them instead. This helps the environment by planting more fruit trees. Their claws can grip to cliff faces. When the climate changes, its rainforest environment may become a mixed woodland with fewer trees. This could lead to the future Cock-of-the-rock to make adaptions. The future Cock-of-the-rock now has sharper claws for fighting for food. It also will have strong legs to jump into trees quickly instead of taking a long time to take flight. The Cock-of-the-rock can camouflage by hiding in the ground and turning brown. Its claws dig the hole for it to hide in. It now shoots a tongue like a frog to collect food.
