Orangutans are primates that climb in tree tops and have an omnivore diet. Orangutans have long arms to climb from tree to tree and long fur for their young to cling to. Orangutan forests are being cut down and burned to make room for palm oil plantations. Orangutans are regularly found stuck in the treetops with their fur burned off. It is predicted that the next generation of orangutans will have longer legs and shorter arms in addition to sharper teeth and shorter fur. It is thought that orangutans will develop this way due to the lack of trees, causing them to walk more rather than climb trees. It's also predicted that because of rising temperatures, orangutans will grow shorter fur to combat the heat. Lastly, orangutans will develop the trait of having sharper teeth. Due to a lack of trees for food they will adopt a more carnivorous diet.
