The Sumatran Elephant

The animal I have chosen is the Sumatran Elephant. They currently live in an inland rainforest and have big ears to keep cool, long trunks to reach leaves, and have really intelligent brains. Since they live in an inland rainforest, I think they will have to adapt to a savanna as the climate changes. On the savanna there are fewer plants and less water for the elephants, so they need ways to get to food and water, but also blend in. In the future, they will have smaller bodies and longer legs to run faster to get from one place to another to find food and water. Next, they have a hump to store food and water for long periods of time, for a month at least. Finally, they have a yellow-brown color for camouflage from predators. That is how it protects itself. That is my future creature.
