Three-Toed Sloth Adaptation

Three-toed sloths live in the tropical forests of Central and South America. They hang on branches while they feast on the leaves and sleep. They spend most of their time in the trees.They sleep for 18 hours a day. The only things that they might need to do to leave their tree is to bathe and go to the bathroom. Three-toed sloths have a restricted diet, living off of trees with the genus Cecropia. Sloths might evolve to be semi-aquatic mammals. They will evolve to have gills that help them breathe underwater. The sloth will take water through the mouth and will force carbon dioxide out the gills. They will evolve to have tails because if they are going to be semi-aquatic animals they will need to be able to swim exceptionally, they will need enhanced eyesight, and webbed claws to help swim.
