The Margay

My animal is a Margay. The Margays present habitat are tropical rainforests. In the future, as the world gets hotter there will be much less water which means less trees which means the tropical rainforests are going to thin out and become mixed woodlands. In the future the margay will adapt to the woodlands by becoming smaller and more nimble so it can jump from branch to branch. Its small dark spots have now become big dark patches, to blend into the dark trees.It has an amazing sense of smell, it can smell predators and prey from 15 meters away. It makes its home by scratching a hole in a tree trunk, a bit like how a woodpecker makes its home in tree trunks. Its diet has also changed from birds and bird eggs, to insects, rats and mice.
