My future creature is a potoo other known as a Nyctibius. Pottos are found in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. They sleep and spend most of their time in trees, perching upright on a stump, or flying looking for prey. Potoos avoid ground because predators live mostly down on the ground rather than in trees. If their habitat changes from a Coastal rainforest to marshes, then a lot of their prey would stay the same because most of them stay up in trees. Some of Potoo’s prey are large flying insects, especially large beetles, katydids and Orthoptera. Bats and birds are taken occasionally as well. If their habitat changed into marshes then their feet would become flippers to be able to swim, and feathers that dry fast. In conclusion, if Potoos habitat changed into wetlands/marshes then they would be able to live because of their adaptations.
