Over the years orangutans have developed very helpful adaptations. Some of these adaptations are visible like having strong hands to break fruit open, while some are genetic like sharing 97% of their DNA with humans. Other visible adaptations are strong jaws for eating tough fruit, long arms to swing across trees to get fruit high up in trees or away from the few animals that might attack them such as tigers. They also have an acute sense of smell to identify fruits or predators and a brownish body to blend in and hide from predators or threatening animals. They live in the trees in tropical rainforests typically in the center of the rainforests. In around 100 years Orangutans will make many more necessary adaptations as our world changes. These include flying, better eyesight to see prey, better lungs for high altitude, and they will even learn to eat meat.
