Howler monkeys are primates that live in the Amazon rainforest. Their diet consists of nuts, berries, leaf, and bugs. They are the loudest primate, because of their loud scream. Their loud scream is one of ways that they adapted to their changing environment. Some of the other adaptations that they have are their tail, that acts as a extra limb, and opposable thumbs, like we have. I believe that they will continue to adapt to their environments over hundreds of years. Since the Amazon rainforest is shrinking because of deforestation, I support the claim that the howler monkeys scream will begin to get quieter, and quieter, so when they scream to protect themselves, they won’t attract more predators in the rainforest, because it is becoming much more condensed. I believe that the howler monkey will start to become more aggressive and strong, like a miniature gorilla, opposed to a monkey.
