My creature is the Venezuela Forest Pit Viper or Bothrops medusa. The current Venezuela forest pit viper lives in the coastal rainforests of northern Venezuela. The snakes typically live on the forest floor. They eat small rodents as their chief food source. My future creature is called the Venezuela Swamp Viper. They live in tropical marshes because of rising sea levels. The Venezuela Swamp Viper is a fully aquatic species that has flattened bodies to move easily through the water and has an olive, dark color. They have valvular nostrils and elongated lungs. They eat small fish as their chief food source. Climate change is real. It is happening at a rate too fast for creatures to adapt. This is an exercise in thought because the solution to climate change is fixing it, not hoping things can adapt in 100 years because evolution takes a millennium, not a century.
