My future creature is a hoatzin. A hoatzin is a marsh dwelling bird. As a chick, they have claws on their wing tips. The story behind this is that the chicks can hold their breaths for a long time, and they live next to ponds and lakes. They climb up onto bushes to eat leaves, and when predators come, they drop into the water, and when the predator leaves, they climb out with their claws to eat more bush leaves, again and again. The future adaptations of the hoatzin are a sharper beak to tear into meat. It also has a more advanced digestive system that can digest meat, because not as many plants will be around later. The hoatzin also has bigger wings to travel farther to get more food. It also will have sharper talons to pick up its prey, and a bigger tail for more balance.
