One adaptation of the Keel Billed Toucan is its colorful feathers. These are for blending in with the lush surroundings of rainforests. In 100 years, they will need to have paler colors to blend in. Keel Billed Toucans also have very loud voices to communicate with each other. These toucans have long beaks in order to peck berries from trees. In 100 years, they will have different beaks because their diet will consist of only insects. This is another adaptation they will have. Keel Billed Toucans also have zygodactyl feet in order to perch on thin branches. In 100 years, their feet will become more like a chicken’s. This will make running easier because they will be unable to fly. Also, they’ll change from nesting in bushes to nesting in trees. Right now, they have very light-weight beaks because their beaks make up ⅓ of their body.
