In the coming future, the emerald tree boa's natural habitat, the tropical rainforest, will undergo significant changes due to several factors. Climate change, one of the biggest challenges facing our planet, is affecting rainforest temperature, resulting in drought conditions. Therefore, the inland emerald tree boa population will have to adapt to survive in less humid environments. This adaptation will cause the species to become smaller in size due to less prey, more predators, and decreased water availability. Deforestation will also have a significant impact on the environment, forcing the boa to adapt to living and hunting in bushes. This change may lead to alterations in their skin camouflage, resulting in more brown or yellow marks for better concealment. The coastal rainforest will also experience changes as sea levels rise, causing the forest to flood and transform into a wetland so emerald tree boas must acquire the swimming ability.
