Sloths are rainforest inhabitants who spend nearly all of their time in trees seeking food, shade, sleeping spots, and camouflage. Since sloths are unable to exist in the wild without trees, they are extremely vulnerable to deforestation. Deforestation leads to a loss of genetic diversity in the sloth species. With habitat loss materializing due to tree loss, the beginning of an extinction vortex is likely as the sloth population begins to decline. I think that without trees sloths will slowly all die off because without they’re habitat it’s hard to survive. It's critical to limit paper waste due to deforestation which affects numerous animals, including sloths.
