Noted for its vibrant large blue wings, the blue morpho butterfly lives in the tropical rainforests of South America, Mexico, and Central America. The Blue Morpho Butterfly will unfortunately have to adapt to the future issues of climate change and deforestation. With the threat of deforestation, the butterfly will need stronger limbs and must learn how to burrow underground to stay safe from other predators facing deforestation and food shortages. Next, the blue morpho will also have to have strengthened wings since they will have to fly farther to find a forest/food source. Finally, the blue morpho butterfly will need to change its beautiful blue wings to a darker coffee/dirt color to help it blend in with the new dead-looking surroundings. To recap the butterfly will need stronger limbs, learn how to burrow underground, have strengthened wings to fly farther, and finally change the wing’s color.
