The world is changing, and so must the animals to thrive in a new environment. Before jumping into the evolution of my species, I must explain more about the past adaptations that separate it from its ancestors. One adaptation of my animal, the Schneider's Dwarf Caiman, is where the nostrils are positioned. Nostrils on its head provide a way of watching prey while also being hidden partially submerged in the water. Other adaptations such as powerful jaws and tough armor, allow it to survive in bad weather. Some adaptations that may ensure its survival in the future warmer habitat, would be slightly thinner armor. A reptile's armor is already built to sustain different temperatures, but a slight change as the climate changes will most likely happen. More pollution can provide an extra challenge. Therefore, an improvised respiratory system can ensure it can play its role in the new ecosystem.
