The Emerald Tree boa lives in the Amazon of South America. This snake has a prehensile tail that helps it to wrap around trees. It is green with a golden orange belly. It is not a venomous snake. It uses heat sensors called pits to sense prey. The Emerald Tree Boa has access to water because of the humid environment. Climate change will force the boa to adapt to a dry environment. The Amazon will become a Savannah. It will develop rough scales to slide across the desert floor. It will camouflage itself in the high grasses. The boa will maintain its juvenile color of brown to blend in. The boa will develop venom glands, to make sure it can catch and keep its prey. The boa will be able to store water in its scales since there is less water. The boa will survive by using these adaptations.
