Evolution of the Pit Viper

Current: My animal is the green pit viper. They live in rainforests in southeast Asia, in countries like Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. They are currently bright green and use their coloring to their advantage to blend in with the environment. They use this to hide from predators, and surprise attack prey. Pit vipers are highly venomous. Future: Pit vipers live in rainforests, but scientists predict rainforests will eventually be completely removed from Earth. Due to this, I think pit vipers will eventually adapt to a new environment and their scales will change color. The scales will go from being bright green to dark brown, to blend in with the dirt and mud. They might also become more venomous so that they can be very sure that they are safe from predators.
