okapi dessert

What would the animal do if there was a difference in their climate. Let's say that it was the rainforest and its animal is the okapi. How would it adapt to its new environment? Let's say that the rainforest got dry like a dessert and what would happen. I think that the okapi would get scales for the heat and get smaller. I think that it would be difficult to become a meat eater and eat bugs as well. It will adapt more when it gets water. It will be like a camel and will store its water in a hump-like area in the okapi. That is what I think will happen and how it will adapt to a desert-like place.
