Amazon rainforest piranhas are silver-gray with yellow and red accents. Their razor sharp, interlocking teeth help them catch their prey. They will eat any animal that falls in the water; fish, birds, mammals, and reptiles are all subject to a piranha’s appetite. As climate change takes effect over the next thousand years, sea level will rise and the Amazon River will become deeper and have fewer plants. The piranhas would need to adapt to the new environment by developing defensive structures like spikes on its back and larger body size. Their jaws and fins would become stronger so they can eat more and swim faster through the deep water.
