BENGAL TIGERS, INTO THE FUTURE Some Bengal tigers live in the tropical rainforests of Sumatra or Malaysia located in Indonesia. Tigers get their name from the middle English word tigre and Old English tigras obtained from Old French tigre, from Latin tigris. These apex predators eat large ungulates, such as wild boar and deer, but are also known to consume monkeys, buffalo, sloth bears, leopards, and even crocodiles. In the next 1,000 years Indonesia will be a wetland causing flash floods, flooding the homes of many tigers. Due to climate change tigers need to adapt to their surroundings. Tigers will be stronger and fully waterproof. They will have a thicker tail to ensure they glide through the muddy rainforest water. They will also have a darker tint to blend in with the water.
